Agartala Jan 16: On Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chandipur Mandal Committee organized the "Samvidhan Gaurav Diwas" workshop at the ground adjacent to United Club in the Chandipur Assembly constituency of Kailashahar subdivision.
The event was inaugurated by Social Education and Social Welfare Minister Tinku Roy in presence of Chandipur Mandal president Pintu Ghosh, BJP State Committee Member Bimal Kar, District Committee vice president Sushanta Sinha among others.
Addressing the event, Minister Tinku Roy highlighted important issues related to the Indian Constitution. He discussed the long-standing implementation of Article 370 in Kashmir, which he described as a source of deprivation for the Hindu minority.
According to the Minister, the Hindu minority in Kashmir was deprived of the right to buy or sell land and was forced to become refugees, spreading to different parts of the country. In contrast, the majority Muslim population in Kashmir was free to buy land, run businesses, and live without any restrictions. He emphasized that Article 370 forced many Hindus in Kashmir to leave their homeland.
Minister Tinku Roy also took the opportunity to recall the significant contributions of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. He praised Dr Ambedkar for framing a progressive and equality-based Constitution after Independence.
However, he criticized the previous Congress and Left-led governments for failing to honour Dr. Ambedkar properly and for neglecting to confer the Bharat Ratna on him.
The "Samvidhan Gaurav Diwas" workshop was hailed as an important initiative to create awareness about the core principles of the Constitution and the responsibilities of citizens.
