Agartala, July 07: Tripura government has proposed two new schemes in the Budget 2023-24 for Urban Development.

To meet the ever increasing demand of urbanization, 'Mukhyamantri Satelite Town Development Scheme' has been proposed to develop new satelite towns at Agartala, Udaipur and Dharmanagar with an investment of over Rs. 500 crore in the next five years.

A token amount of Rs. 10 crore has been in the Budget to start preliminary work for the same during FY 2023-24.

Another new scheme "Mukhyamantri Nagar Unnayan Prakalpa" has been proposed for investment in Urban Infrastructure across Tripura with an outlay of Rs. 1500 crore over next five years by merging TUEP. This year, a provision of Rs. 120 crore has been kept in the Budget estimates.
