Two arrested with 298 Kg ganja

Agartala, Nov 17: In a joint operation, Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force arrested two individuals with 298.055 kg of ganja at Agartala Railway Station on Sunday.
Police revealed that the contraband was packed in 24 cartons containing 282 packets and was being transported on a pushcart. The suspects intended to smuggle the ganja to Bihar via the Deoghar Express.
The seized ganja is estimated to be worth Rs. 35.76 lakh in the market, Police added. The arrested individuals, identified as Bittu Kumar and Ankul Kumar were employed as bedroll boys on the Deoghar Express.
Police are interrogating the suspects to trace others involved in the smuggling racket and anticipate further arrests.
