Agartala, Aug 22: With the bye-polls to two assembly seats- Boxonagar and Dhanpur are knocking at the door, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaigns gained momentum. The ministers and state-level leaders are campaigning hard to ensure the party's victory in both the seats.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and other leaders campaigned and attended several organizational programmes at Boxanagar constituency.
The ruling party got a major boost at Boxonagar as several leaders from the opposition camp joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in presence of the Chief Minister.
Jaidal Hossain, TMC candidate and block president, Minakshi Begam, TMC block women wing president, Joynal Hossain, TMC block minority cell president, Jakir Hossain, Congress district committee secretary, and Sharik Ahmed, CPM youth leader joined the saffron brigade followed by inauguration of BJP’s Boxonagar mandal election office.
The Chief Minister held meetings with the leaders and Karyakartas of various levels, campaigned door-to-door and attended a house meeting in support of BJP-nominated candidate Tafajjal Hossain.
In the House meeting, Dr. Saha said, voting in favour of those who misruled the state and played politics of violence for 35 years would mean a push to corruption, political terror and murder. But, voting for BJP means ensuring development and good governance.
He said, there is no instance of corruption under the Modi-led government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has brought a change and ensured welfare of the countrymen.
With this message, he appealed to the people of Boxonagar to vote for BJP-nominated candidate Tafajjal Hossain for experiencing development in true sense.
