WHAT A LACKADAISICAL ATTITUDE !

Whether it was "Ragging" or not, physical attack or "panic attack" - - - instead of going through these technicalities, it must be acknowledged that a vulnerable student was subjected to immense mental torture (even if not physically assaulted) by a rowdy coward group of students who pursue the policy of "Might is Right" with scant respect towards law.
And surely the audacity of the rowdies in Jadavpur University has attained such a scandalous height because of the most callous lackadaisical attitude of the administration despite the horrendous record of physical and mental torture unleashed by the brutes upon the vulnerable lot within the hostels which seems to have simply no end! Or the administration is itself wary of the rowdy lot and this forms the real reason behind it's escapist indifferent attitude whenever shocking reports of torture upon vulnerable students hit the headline!
How dare the administration can belittle the torture upon Biswajit Pramanik as "internal matter" "misunderstanding" and "panic attack"! So torture upon the weak by the coward lot drawing "strength" from brute numbers are required to be ignored by the "outsider" community as students of the University are terrorising their "very own"! And "misunderstanding" might happen, but is a "kangaroo court" an answer of it! And do the University mandarins possess even minimum knowledge that mental torture is hardly lesser in ferocity than physical torture and that "panic attack" can lead the victim to permanent psychological damage, heart attacks and even resultant death!
When will Jadavpur University wake up from it's "slumber" resembling Kumbhakarna and sincerely stop this barbaric practice of torture upon the students deemed "weak" ("Ragging" or not is hardly an issue)! How can several private Universities in this very country has achieved excellent success in ensuring law and order within the hostels with the brutes invariably facing the music if they dare to unleash terror upon fellow students!
Had Jadavpur University been under the direct control of Armed forces, could the "brave" students dare to pose challenge to the administration, take law in their own hands and break all norms of law so brazenly! How could the students dare to stop even the Medical Superintendent of the University from reaching the gheraoed Pramanik demanding urgent medical attention!
Today when even teachers are banned from exercising corporal punishment, how can students dare to attack their counterparts - - - physical/mental - - - instead of lodging complaint to the authorities if they indeed believed that Pramanick had "stolen a laptop"!
It is a matter of utmost disgrace that even after the fatal disaster met by the minor boy from Nadia district last year, Jadavpur University mandarins are yet to discard their lethargy to ensure strict discipline and monitoring of the dreaded hostels! Do the parents admit their children in hostels to get tortured by the brutes! A student, studying in far distant college and staying in hostel, not only gets detached from the family, but from his past habitat acquaintances and environment also. When the administration must go all-out to ensure an embracing gentle humane environment to these vulnerable lot, they are almost literally made to face the devils dominating through numerical muscle!
