SDM's surprise visit uncovers Irregularities at Ration Shop, AWC, School in Mohanpur

A surprise inspection conducted by the Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Administration on Thursday uncovered several irregularities at ration shops, Anganwadi centres and a government school under the Bijoynagar Gram Panchayat in Mohanpur block. 

The inspection was led by Mohanpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shantanu Bikash Das, who visited multiple public service institutions to assess their functioning and ensure compliance with government norms. 

During the inspection, the Bijaynagar-II ration shop was found closed during official working hours, raising concerns over the delivery of essential commodities to beneficiaries. 

The team also detected irregularities at the Bijaynagar S.B. School though officials did not immediately disclose the specific nature of the lapses. Unauthorised absent and irregularities in stock of mid-day-meal along with unhygienic water were noticed. 

Speaking to reporters, SDM Shantanu Bikash Das said departmental action would be initiated against those found responsible for the irregularities.  

He added that the administration would continue conducting such surprise inspections in the coming days to improve accountability and ensure the smooth functioning of public welfare institutions.
