Tripura CS chairs workshop to strengthen administrative efficiency, effective governance

A workshop on “Guide on Conducting Effective Meetings” was organized at the state secretariat on Thursday.

The workshop was chaired by Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Secretary of Tripura, and attended by Principal Secretaries, Secretaries, Special Secretaries, Additional Secretaries, Directors of various departments, while District Magistrates from across the state joined virtually.

According to a government press release, in line with recent directives issued by the Cabinet Secretary of the Government of India to enhance efficiency in government functioning, several measures are being implemented across the country to improve administrative performance and service delivery.

As part of this initiative, the National Centre for Good Governance has developed research-based guidelines aimed at improving the speed, transparency, and efficiency of daily administrative work, official meetings, and decision-making processes in government offices.

The initiative is focused on making the administrative system more dynamic, accessible, and citizen-friendly by ensuring better governance practices at all levels.

Following the guidelines issued by the Central Cabinet Secretary, the work was organized. 

During the session, the Chief Secretary elaborated on the objectives, significance, and long-term impact of the initiative, while also providing necessary directions aimed at making the state’s administrative machinery more efficient and responsive in the coming days.

Organized jointly by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department and State Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development (SIPARD), the workshop also featured a presentation highlighting the Cabinet Secretary’s guidelines on making official meetings and administrative processes more productive.

The presentation focused on improving work efficiency in governance, better planning mechanisms, structured meeting management, and strengthening review systems to ensure more effective implementation of administrative decisions.
