
Animal Resources Development Department, Fisheries and Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das on Thursday placed the strengthening of Tripura’s dairy industry at the centre of discussions during a high-level meeting with senior officials of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) at Anand, Gujarat.

The meeting focused on strategies to increase milk production, build modern infrastructure, promote value-added dairy products, and empower farmers financially.Â

Minister Das said these measures are critical to creating a vibrant and sustainable dairy sector in Tripura, capable of supporting rural livelihoods and contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Emphasizing the importance of partnership, Das expressed optimism about forging a stronger collaboration with NDDB to achieve long-term goals. “Our vision is to establish a significant and prosperous dairy industry in Tripura, and NDDB’s expertise will be pivotal in realizing this ambition,” he noted.

The discussions were attended by senior officials including Secretary Deepa D. Nair and Director Dr. Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, who joined the Minister in exploring avenues for technical support, infrastructure development, and farmer-focused initiatives.
