Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta landed in Tripura on Wednesday to a warm reception at MBB Airport, Agartala, where she was greeted by Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Pradesh BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee, and a large gathering of party leaders and karyakartas.
Gupta, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, is scheduled to visit the historic Tripura Sundari Temple (Matabari) in Udaipur later in the day. The temple, located about 55 km from Agartala, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas and holds immense religious and cultural significance.
Â
Speaking to reporters at the airport, Gupta said she felt “extremely proud and touched with a sense of peace” as she prepared for darshan of Mata Tripura Sundari. She thanked Dr. Saha and the BJP workers for the warm welcome, adding that she would pray for “Viksit Tripura” under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat.”
Echoing her sentiments, Dy CM Brajesh Pathak said the visit was aimed at seeking blessings from Maa Tripura Sundari while reaffirming the BJP’s development narrative in the Northeast.Â
“After attending the swearing-in ceremony of the Assam government, we came here to pray that under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha, Tripura continues to progress and joins the ranks of the leading states of the country,” he stated.
Â
Gupta’s arrival comes at a time of heightened political activity in the Northeast, following the Assam government’s oath-taking ceremony earlier this week.Â
Her visit underscores both the spiritual importance of Matabari and the growing political focus on Tripura as national leaders converge on the state during this crucial period.
