Dharmanagar hosts colourful evening on International Dance Day

The Vivekananda Shatabarshiki Bhavan came alive on Tuesday evening, as Dharmanagar celebrated International Dance Day 2026 with a vibrant cultural program.

Organized by the local community of dancers, the event drew an overflowing audience of cultural enthusiasts. More than a hundred performers took the stage, presenting a rich blend of classical and modern dance forms that captivated spectators.

The program was inaugurated by noted social worker Jahar Chakraborty, with North Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath presiding. Distinguished guests included social worker Kajal Das, Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairperson Mitali Rani Das Sen, cultural personality Dipal Das, social worker Shyamal Nath, and Deputy Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Ripon Chakma.

Thunderous applause and cheers from the audience encouraged the performers throughout the evening. Organizers announced that similar cultural initiatives will continue, enriching Dharmanagar’s artistic landscape.
