Assam Rifles, Customs recover morphine worth Rs. 18 lakh, one held

 In a joint anti-narcotics operation, Assam Rifles and Customs seized Morphine worth Rs. 18 lakh Tripura on Wednesday.

Assam Rifles in coordination with representatives of Customs Department conducted the joint operation in Railway Station area, Agartala under the West Tripura District.

According to a press release, the joint team recovered 180 grams of Morphine in the raid.

During the operation, one individual identified as Arun Kumar Chakma was apprehended in connection with the recovery.

The recovered contraband along with the apprehended individual has been handed over to the Customs Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The Assam Rifles and other security agencies have been playing a proactive role towards combating narcotics trafficking in the region.
