Tripura govt committed to build modern, people-friendly police system: CM

 The Tripura government remains committed to building a modern, disciplined and people-friendly police system, dedicated to serving society with integrity, courage and compassion, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said on Thursday.

The Chief Minister said this while speaking at the Passing Out Parade of the 91st and 92nd Batch of Recruit Constables (Men & Women) at KTD Singh Police Training Academy.

It was a proud moment for 476 Recruit Constables — 318 Women and 158 Men — as they formally passed out and joined the Tripura Police after 11 months of training. More 475 recruits underwent training at R.K. Nagar TSR training centre.

He said, 318 of the new recruit constables are women, it reflects the growing participation of women in police force and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for women empowerment.

The Chief Minister also announced the recruitment of 1,134 personnel in Tripura Police, to further strengthen the state's security system.

He said that the recruitment process for 218 Sub-Inspectors (SI) and 916 Constables will begin soon.

The Chief Minister also lauded the parade and congratulated the new recruits. He particularly mentioned the participation of women in the parade. 
DGP Anurag, KTDS Police Training Academy Principal Jayanta Chakraborty, senior police officers and others were present.

Meanwhile, there is an added feature in the 112 India Application -Track Me which is enabled in the state of Tripura. Tripura became the first State in the country to adopt this option of 112 India Application.

"Track Me" can be used by  women or elderly persons while traveling  alone or at odd hours  or without a adult male member. With this feature, ERSS  control Room can track the movement of the user with real-time location sharing with the  ERSS control room.

In case of any danger or hostile situation on pressing danger button in the application emergency response vehicle can reach the location without any delay.

Testing of "Track Me" has been successfully done by Team ERSS of Tripura Police.
