The foundation stone for the proposed Tripurasundari Siddhapeeth Gurukul was laid at the eastern bank of Kalyan Sagar beside the Matabari Temple in Udaipur.
A three-day religious ceremony followed the foundation stone laying, according to BJP Tripura president and local MLA Abhishek Debroy.
The foundation-laying ceremony was conducted with Vedic rituals and traditional customs, marking the beginning of the Gurukul project, which aims to preserve and promote the rich heritage of Sanatan culture among future generations.
The event was attended by Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Dr. Acharya Shankar Maharaj, along with other dignitaries and revered saints. The ceremony featured Vedic chanting, creating a spiritual atmosphere as devotees participated in the sacred rituals.
According to Debroy, the proposed Gurukul is envisioned not merely as an educational institution but as a centre for nurturing cultural and moral values. Alongside modern education, students will be taught the principles of Sanatan Hinduism, ethical conduct, and the knowledge of the Vedas and Upanishads.
The institution aims to help the younger generation develop a strong moral foundation while preserving India's ancient cultural and spiritual traditions, he said.
