Rs. 273.46 cr sanctioned for AGMC, increase in MBBS, PG seats approved

In a major boost for infrastructure development of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC), the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare sanctioned an amount of Rs. 273.46 crore.

 

Sharing the update on social media, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said the fund will help increase 100 MBBS seats and 83 Post Graduation seats in 19 critical and speciality disciplines in AGMC from the academic year 2026-27. 

 

"With addition of above medical seats, Tripura State will have 550 MBBS seats and 196 Post Graduate Seats, a record increase in last 4 years," the Chief Minister noted.

 

He reiterated the government's commitment to improving the health services for citizens as well as Medical Education for the young aspirants in the state.

 

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P.Nadda for sanctioning Rs. 273.46 Crore for infrastructure development of the Agartala Government Medical College.
