Sonia Gandhi condoles death of former TPCC Chief's spouse

Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi has expressed condolences to Tripura High Court advocate and former Tripura PCC Chief Pijush Kanti Biswas on the death of his wife, Smriti Kana Biswas.

In a letter dated May 7, Gandhi said she was “deeply saddened” to learn about the demise of Biswas’s wife and conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family.

“I can well imagine your anguish and sorrow at losing her. My prayers are with you and your family,” she wrote in the letter issued on the letterhead of the Congress Parliamentary Party.

Gandhi also said she hoped the family would find strength to bear the loss.
“May you find comfort in her memory and the strength to bear the pain of her absence,” the letter stated.

The condolence message was addressed to Biswas in his capacity as an advocate of the Tripura High Court.
