Weather Alert: Thunderstorms and Rain Forecast across Tripura

The Meteorological Department has issued an urgent advisory warning of thunderstorms accompanied by rain and gusty winds across all districts of Tripura within the next 24 hours. 

The update signals a major shift in weather conditions, bringing relief from the intense heat that has gripped the state in recent days.

According to officials, districts including North Tripura, South Tripura, Dhalai, and Khowai are expected to experience heavy showers with lightning activity. The day’s maximum temperature is likely to hover close to 35°C, while Agartala recorded a minimum of 28.1°C early this morning.

Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution during the stormy spells. People are advised to remain indoors during lightning activity, avoid taking shelter under trees, and refrain from unnecessary outdoor movement.

The forecast has raised hopes of respite for citizens weary of the scorching summer, while also reminding them to stay alert to the risks associated with sudden weather changes.
