
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday directed officials concerned to expedite the repair of roads damaged during the monsoon season across the state.
The instruction was passed in a meeting of the Task Monitoring System (TMS), held through video conferencing from Conference Hall of the State Secretariat.
With the monsoon season underway, he instructed departments concerned to undertake immediate repairs of damaged roads to prevent inconvenience to commuters.Â
Special emphasis was placed on completing the road project between Mohanpur and Subal Singh within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining construction quality. He also directed officials to ensure timely completion of on-going infrastructure projects.
The meeting also reviewed the state's law and order situation, healthcare services, infrastructure development, and other issues related to public welfare.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for coordinated action against drug abuse and criminal activities. He instructed the police administration to keep mobile patrolling units active in all districts and maintain a safe environment in public spaces, including parks and areas frequented by children and families.
Dr. Saha also assessed the condition of healthcare facilities and emphasized maintaining cleanliness in hospitals across the state. He sought updates on the functioning of Primary Health Centres and directed authorities to strengthen public health services.
Highlighting food safety concerns, the Chief Minister asked Food Safety Officers to intensify field inspections and ensure that food outlets adhere to prescribed quality standards during food preparation and sale.
The Chief Minister further underlined the importance of effective waste management and asked the concerned departments to remain vigilant and take necessary measures. He reviewed the maintenance of LED display screens installed in various urban areas and sought updates on drainage arrangements, including the functioning of water-pumping systems used during heavy rainfall.
Dr. Saha also emphasized the need to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the state, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Dr. P. K. Chakraborty, held discussions with District Magistrates of all eight districts through virtual mode on various issues related to the Task Monitoring System.
Secretaries of different departments, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Bimbisar Bhattacharjee, and other senior officials attended the meeting. District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, and departmental officers from all eight districts also participated virtually.
