Tripura Court rejects anticipatory bail plea of IFS officer Gaurav Ravindra Wagh

The anticipatory bail plea of Gaurav Ravindra Wagh, who has been facing corruption charges, was rejected by the court on Thursday.

Wagh, an accused under Sections 7/7A/8/13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Sections 61/318/316 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, is now absconding.

A case registered against him at Agartala GRPS (Case No. 2026/GRP/025, dated 23.04.2026) is pending against him. The Court of the Additional Sessions Judge rejected his anticipatory bail plea.

Police said, Sections 11/12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Sections 238/249(b) of the BNS have been added during the course of investigation. Further investigation is underway.

While a disciplinary proceeding against IFS officer Gaurav Ravindra Wagh is underway, the state government ordered immediate suspension of the officer, who was posted as District Forest Officer (DFO), South Tripura, on May 6 last.

The suspension was ordered days after his relative Rajenddra Chintaman Kaklij was arrested with Rs. 60 lakh in cash at Agartala Railway station.
