Tripura hosts 2nd Reverse Buyer Seller Meet: Minister Santana Chakma highlights global opportunities for local industries

The Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, successfully organized the 2nd Tripura Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM) 2026 at Hotel Polo Tower, Agartala. The prestigious event was attended by State Minister for Industries and Commerce Santana Chakma, who underscored the importance of connecting Tripura’s entrepreneurs and farmers with both domestic and international buyers.

Minister Chakma, in her address, emphasized that the initiative is seamlessly implemented under the RAMP program (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance). She noted that engaging with international buyers and showcasing Tripura’s diverse industries highlighted the immense talent and resources the state has to offer. “This platform fosters meaningful partnerships, drives innovation, and accelerates economic progress for Tripura,” she said, congratulating the Department for orchestrating a world-class event.

The primary focus of RBSM this year was to strengthen market access, boost exports, and attract investments by linking local producers directly with buyers. Structured B2B matchmaking sessions were held, resulting in the signing of multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), marking a significant step toward expanding Tripura’s trade footprint.

This year’s Spotlight Sector was Tripura Tea, with special emphasis on organic, orthodox green, and black varieties. Alongside tea, the exhibition showcased a wide range of products including bamboo handicrafts, agarwood essential oil, rubber products, millets, organic rice, and canned fruits — all reflecting the state’s rich natural resources and artisanal skills.

The event reaffirmed Tripura’s growing role in India’s trade and commerce landscape, positioning the state as a hub for sustainable and innovative products with global appeal.

Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Kiran Gitte; Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) CEO, Tarit Kanti Chakma along with other dignitaries remained present at the day's event.
