The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from teachers, students, government employees, social workers, and local residents. Under the guidance of yoga instructors, participants performed a variety of asanas, pranayama, and meditation exercises.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury said, “Yoga is not just physical exercise; it is a complete philosophy of life. It is one of the finest means to achieve physical health, mental peace, and spiritual growth. In today’s fast-paced and competitive world, yoga is essential to remain healthy and positive.”
He further noted that yoga, a priceless treasure of India’s ancient heritage, has gained global recognition. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative in 2014 for securing international acceptance of Yoga Day, which has since been celebrated annually across the world.
The MLA urged everyone to dedicate time daily to yoga practice, stressing that regular engagement can lead to a healthier body, calmer mind, and longer life. Other speakers also highlighted yoga’s benefits and encouraged the younger generation to adopt it as part of a healthy lifestyle.
