Rajkumar Malakar, a youngster of Tripura's Kamalpur on Sunday claimed that he had filed a patent application for his "Bayuman" engine, which he says can run on air without using petrol or diesel.Â
In a social media post, Malakar alleged that despite his repeated attempts he did not receive financial assistance from the state government for the project.
Malakar said he had successfully submitted the patent application with the Indian government's patent office after a prolonged process marked by financial and technical challenges.
He claimed that despite repeatedly seeking financial support from the Tripura government and local administration, no assistance was extended to him for the development of the invention.
According to Malakar, he subsequently secured a bank loan to fund the patent filing and continue work on the project.
"After taking a loan from a bank, I submitted the patent application. More than Rs 16 lakh has already been spent on this invention," he said.
Malakar said his goal was not only to demonstrate the vehicle on roads but also to bring the technology to the Indian market.
He alleged that while funds were being spent on the development of places that gained popularity on social media, support was not being provided for scientific innovation and research.
He maintained that the proposed engine does not require petrol or diesel and claimed that the technology could help address fuel-related challenges if successfully developed and commercialised.
He said he remained committed to advancing the project despite financial constraints and other difficulties and expressed confidence that he would be able to showcase the vehicle through a road demonstration in the future.
Malakar also appealed to people to share his post to raise awareness about the challenges faced by independent inventors in pursuing research and development projects.
