Tripura's 14-Year-Old Trapa Choudhury joins Global Youth leaders in New Delhi

Tripura has earned a proud moment on the international stage as Trapa Choudhury, a 14-year-old Class VIII student of St. Paul's School, Agartala, was selected to participate in the II Russian-Indian Youth Forum 2026, which began this week at the Russian House in New Delhi.

The prestigious forum has brought together more than 250 young leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from India and Russia to deliberate on issues of sustainable development, climate action, cultural exchange, and global peace.

Representing Tripura, Trapa is contributing to sessions on environment and sustainability, where discussions focus on ecological responsibility, indigenous knowledge, and creative approaches to climate awareness. Despite her young age, she has already built an impressive profile as a Global Child Peace Ambassador, Child Climate Ambassador, and Child Ambassador for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with participation in over 250 events at state, national, and international levels.

Her recognition by the India Book of Records and her inclusion in this international forum have been hailed as a milestone for Tripura, showcasing the growing global presence of young voices from the Northeast. Educators and officials described her participation as an inspiration for youth engagement in climate action and international cooperation.

The two-day programme, jointly organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in India, the Russian House, and India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, features expert panels, cultural exchanges, and team-building activities.

The event is expected to conclude with a joint declaration promoting stronger youth collaboration and cultural understanding between the two nations.
