West Tripura District Magistrate conducts ground-level review in Simna Panchayat

In a bid to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure proper delivery of welfare schemes, the District Magistrate and Collector of West Tripura carried out an early morning inspection in the Simna Gram Panchayat area under Mohanpur RD Block.

The visit, which began around 8 a.m., was joined by Assistant Collector Mamata, IAS, along with senior officials from multiple departments. The team toured the Simna Higher Secondary School, the local Anganwadi Centre, and several ongoing development projects in the Panchayat.

During the inspection, the District Magistrate reviewed the condition of classrooms, student attendance, drinking water facilities, sanitation, and nutrition services. He also interacted directly with teachers, Anganwadi workers, students, and residents to gather firsthand accounts of how government schemes are functioning on the ground.

Emphasizing the importance of quality education and child welfare, the District Magistrate directed officials to maintain cleanliness in schools and childcare centers, strengthen nutrition services, and ensure that welfare benefits reach genuine beneficiaries. He instructed departments to resolve identified problems on a priority basis and improve coordination to accelerate development work.

Local residents welcomed the initiative, noting that such on-the-ground inspections by senior officials help ensure problems are quickly identified and addressed. Many expressed optimism that the visit would pave the way for faster solutions to long-standing issues in the Panchayat.

This inspection reflects the administration’s renewed focus on grassroots governance, signaling that accountability and welfare delivery are being closely monitored at the village level.
